Things that are not in the licence
Said plainly, because finding out later is what sours these arrangements.
Your hosting
The software runs on your own hosting and domain. Shared hosting with PHP 8.2 and MySQL is enough for most schools. We will tell you what to buy, and we can set it up.
Text messages
Email is included and needs only a sending account. If you want SMS as well, it is billed by whichever gateway you choose — we connect it.
Payment gateway charges
Online fee collection uses your gateway account, on your rates. We do not take a cut of fees collected.
Questions about the money
What happens if we stop paying the licence?
The software keeps running and your data stays where it is — on your server, in your database. What stops is updates and support. We will also give you a full export on request, whether you are leaving or staying.
Do you charge per parent login?
No. Accounts for parents, students and staff are unlimited. Charging a school for talking to its own families would be a strange way to price this.
What if our numbers grow mid-year?
Nothing breaks and nothing locks. The licence is sized at renewal against the roll at that point, not policed during the year.
Is there a trial?
The live demo is open to anyone with no sign-up. If you want to trial it with your own data, we will set up a private instance for a few weeks.
Can we pay once and own it?
Talk to us. A perpetual licence with an annual support fee is possible for schools that prefer their budget that way.
