This page is about startosoft.com — the site you are reading. It is not the privacy notice for a school's installation; that one belongs to the school, which is the controller of its own records.
What this site collects
Nothing at all unless you send us something. There is no analytics script, no advertising tag, no social widget, and no font or stylesheet fetched from another company's server. Loading a page here tells us only what any web server records: the request, and the address it came from, in the server's own log.
If you use the form
The contact form sends us your name, your school, your email address and anything else you choose to type, including a phone number if you give one. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell it, share it or add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
To stop abuse, the form counts submissions per visitor for an hour, using a one-way fingerprint rather than the address itself.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of doing business, and for our own records afterwards. Ask us to delete yours and we will, and confirm it.
The demo
Everything in the demo school is invented. No real child's record is on it. What you type into the demo is wiped when it resets, and you should not put anything real there.
Cookies
This website sets none. A school's own installation sets a session cookie when someone signs in, because that is how signing in works; it carries no tracking and is not shared.
A school's own installation
When a school installs Startosoft, the school holds the data, on the school's hosting. We have no access to it unless the school gives us access to help with something, and then only for as long as that takes. We do not copy a school's data to our own systems.
